Rendering artist James Hewson illustrates from his studio of James Hewson Interior Concepts Ltd. in Toronto where top level projects command his attention.

Born and schooled in Canada, this well known illustrator graduated from Interior Design with honours from the Ontario College of Art and Design and worked as an Interior Designer with the Robert Simpson Contract Division. After extensive travels in Europe he freelanced in Toronto as a rendering illustrator for highly respected Architects, Interior Designers and Home Furnishings advertising. Later on he began his inspired association with accounts in the U.S.A. where he lived and worked in New York from 1984-1987, Hong Kong 1993 and Los Angeles 1995.

Mr. Hewson is well known for his elegant interior illustrations. With infinite attention to detail, a distinct technique and unparalleled expertise, he moves easily from commercial to residential assignments.

Outstanding clients have sought his services from Toronto to Montreal, New York, Boston, Atlantic City, Los Angeles and Hong Kong, illustrating projects from commercial to residential and palace interiors, yachts, hotels and condominiums. These commissions among others have earned him an international reputation with magazine exposure in Toronto and the U.S.A.

Encompasing another area of artistic endeavour, Mr. Hewson has researched the great palaces of Europe and Russia culminating in his celebrated collection of Palace Portraits. Exhibitions of his portraits have been mounted at the Museum of Vizcaya in Miami, Florida: Ridpaths Oak Room Gallery and the Decorator's Showcase in Toronto and Long Island, N.Y.; group exhibitions at the Pen and Brush Society and the Fashion Institute in New York City. Mr.Hewson also accepts private commissions for residential room portraits.
